FIGHTING SICKLE CELL WITH NEXT GEN TECH

Voima revolutionizes sickle cell disease management through advanced technology, community programs, and pioneering research — creating better outcomes for patients worldwide.

Our Solutions

At Voima, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with sickle cell disease through comprehensive support and education. Voima is not a loose collection of programs — it is a connected system where each initiative feeds the next, creating a self-reinforcing loop. Our campaigns funnel patients into the app. The app generates data that informs families and clinicians. Those insights strengthen our research partnerships, which then shape community programs. Each layer strengthens the others, ensuring scale and sustainability.

OUR MISSION: #TRACE

Voima’s mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities impacted by Sickle Cell Disease through innovative technology, education, and partnerships. We are building digital health tools that prevent frequent crises, connect patients to lifesaving resources, and improve long-term health outcomes while scaling sustainably as a mission-driven enterprise.

Our Story

Voima was founded in 2023 by Emmanuel and a group of young leaders who had personally witnessed the devastating impact of SCD on their families, friends, and communities. Emmanuel lost his friend EliJa and two childhood mates to SCD, and his co-founders share similar experiences of loss. Inspired by these stories and driven by a shared commitment to change, the founding team launched Voima to bridge the gap between digital health innovation and grassroots advocacy. Early experiences in Ghana revealed how preventable suffering is worsened by shortages in blood supply, lack of crisis prevention tools, and stigma, while conversations with clinicians in the U.S. highlighted similar inequities among underserved patients. From these experiences, Voima was envisioned as both a company and a movement: using technology to drive global equity in SCD care.

SCD is a major public health concern in Sub-Saharan Africa, with 15,000 newborns diagnosed in Ghana each year. Despite its prevalence, awareness remains low, and that's why we founded Voima—to raise awareness, reduce new cases, and empower those living with the disease.
